Status of Women Canada is a federal government organization that promotes equality for women and their full participation in the economic, social and democratic life of Canada.
Status of Women Canada works to advance equality for women by focusing its efforts in three priority areas:
1. increasing women’s economic security and prosperity;
2. encouraging women’s leadership and democratic participation; and
3. ending violence against women and girls.
Status of Women Canada is responsible for providing strategic policy advice and gender-based analysis support, administering the Women’s Program, and promoting Commemorative Dates relating to women in Canada.
Canadian Construction Women creates a stronger construction industry by inspiring and supporting women. They provide members with opportunities for support, mentoring, networking, community involvement, learning and development, in order to see that a career in the building industry offers a world of opportunity. The CCW exists to attract and retain women in the industry.
The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) was incorporated as a non-profit organization in October 2005. CAWIC’s mandate is to facilitate the long-term success of women in Canada’s construction-related fields such as general contracting, trades, building products, architecture, engineering, interior design, and professional services.
